Not Posted in Ages :o(

29 08 2009

Yes I know I haven’t posted in ages, But in my defence it’s been the school holidays and Ive had so much going on in my life at the moment.

Since the last time I posted I have lost a very good friend and neighbour, It wasn’t an easy funeral to go to but Im so happy that it was so packed there. He was really loved in this village.. Its still a bit raw but I will post about him when im feeling more with it and ready and have more time to devote to him.

We had a staycation this year.  Instead of spending money we dont have on going away for a week or so and having nothing but a few photo’s to show we decided to crack on with the decorating and get things done how we wanted them instead of the cheap option if that makes sense.  The flooring is all done in the front room. and its lovely. i love the dark wood but at over £30 a pack it costs fortunes to do the whole hallway and front room..

In fact the front room is done now apart from the putting away of all the decorating equipment on my shelves where the printer and scanner are going to go in my work corner (god I cant wait for the pc to be up and running again) oh and he needs to do the edges of my workstation it was made out of some black marble counter top but the edges still need finishing off. oh and the door frame still needs glossing. but hey the radiator is back on the wall now so thats a bonus. i had visions of freezing in the winter because it was going to be one of the jobs that he never got round to.

Alex and Ali watched a program on the tv about 5 weeks ago about castles and ruins and have had a fascination about them ever since  so that solved the problem of where to take them on days out.  They are not lovers of rides so the amusement parks were out. and to be honest both of them are to small for most of the rides anyway.

So I joined English Heritage and we have been to all the local castles in the Kent and Sussex area’s  Dover castle being the favourite so far. we went there three times. So I have had my moneys worth out of the English heritage membership fee with just that one castle as it would of cost nearly £40 for us all to go once. and the membership was only £89   we did the great tower on one trip alone with the military museum and the perimeter and other bits on another trip and the secret war tunnels on another trip.  It was too much all on one day so we divided it up and went once a week.. and no doubt will be going back again.. maybe in the spring.  we have been to many other castles and ruins as well.

yesterday we went to upnor castle.  which IMO was a little disappointing.  its advertised as being a place you can get married in or have naming ceremonies but in actual fact there is no way i would want to get married there. (not that i want to get married) as the function room is right at the top of the spiral staircase.. as with most castles.. nice and steep and there is no way i can see any bride being able to navigate the staircase in a long dress and trail.   but the kids loved it. which is the main point.  Ali is not keen on all the spiral staircases on any of the castles but Alex loves them as they lead him to the top of the towers …  ok going down them he is not keen them but you have to do one to do the other.

It’s August bank holiday weekend this weekend and we are having a BBQ with some friends over tomorrow. so i hope it doesn’t rain.   So far I cant complain about the summer at all.. its been lovely apart from the lack of rain for the garden so having to water like mad to keep the veg and fruit and flowers alive.

not looking forward to Monday though as it would of been Michael’s 25th Birthday.  Yes I still think of him everyday and another advantage of not being with the ex is i can at least grieve in the open if that makes sense as Allan knows about him where as my ex didn’t

Another Milestone over the summer was getting Ali out of nappies yes day and night.. it took 3 days to get him dry at night and we have never had an accident.  poor kid he was probably ready to come out of them ages ago.  Im a lazy mummy when it comes to potty training so leave it until they can understand when they need to go. I cant be doing with running around with little ones with a potty.  It happened because they were playing in the garden in the paddling pool with nothing on and ali ran in and used the big toilet..  tiddled and ran out again… hmmm i thought so never put a nappy on him the rest of the day.. and yes he used the loo everytime he needed to go.. no prompting at all. that evening he went for a tiddle before bedtime.  I put a nappy on him and we had a protest anyway in the morning he woke up came straight downstairs ripped the dry nappy off and pee’d for England .. this went on for three nights.. and then i decided sod it wont bother with a nappy.. and yes he has been dry day and night ever since.. no accidents one kid in pants… and no asking do you need a wee all the time.  he just asks even when we are out… this is the easiest kid ever out of all my kids and they have all been really good. again because I guess I have always left it until they were about three…

well i will blog again with more details about bits and peices in this post no doubt when alex is back at school and life has returned to some sort of normality

The Grandson I will never meet :(

4 07 2009

I got news through a friend the other day that my oldest daughter had a son the other day of course they don’t know that i know this and if this friend ever got found out that she had passed this information on to me or sent me these pictures then no doubt this will be the last time I will ever hear anything again.

I feel devastated, gutted, and very sad, I have spent hours and hours in tears:(

but at the same time I’m so proud of my daughter  and happy for her.

None of these feelings make any sense to me at the moment.

I miss my kids so much but just having this one little glimpse into their life at least i know they are ok

well i know my daughters are.

I know i will never meet my grandson but at least i know what he looks like

now the strange thing is

My Mum was born July 1st 1934

My Son Ali was born July 1st 2006

And now my grandson River has been born July 1st 2009

maybe there is something in that… funny eh  a third generation of a family all being born on the same day.. And my daughter doesn’t even know this.

My two lovely little boys are uncles…. they don’t even know that they have older brothers and sisters.  I haven’t told them because I cant face the questions they may ask… I know one day when they get older I will have to explain but for now ignorance is bliss….

In the Last week!

29 06 2009

It has cost us fortunes lol

The galaxy died on allan so after a tow home by the RAC it was discovered the head gasket had gone… we called around and to fix it would cost about £500 so after a bit of debating we decided to see what other mpv’s were available for that kind of money…   we found a totota estima for £500 just needed taxing in very nice shape.. Allan has put a few dents on the galaxy and scratches and ruined the interior. filthy and trim missing etc so yes i agreed we would get the other car instead..  we buy it…. problem one  getting the insurance sorted  its an import…. my insurance co dont insure it but the broker found another firm that would it cost a little more than the galaxy but at least its still fully comp.  sorted… now taxing it of course we couldn’t tax it until the cover note came.. now this is where the insurance co were fantastic… the cover note came the next morning so off i set to tax it… all sorted even sent the old tax back on the galaxy it only had one month so taxing would of been an expence we would of had to pay out for the galaxy anyway.   then getting rid of the galaxy… no if we had somewhere to store it i would of said sell it for spares or repairs…after all its not long since it cost us over a thousand to have the transmission re done and a new windscreen put in only a few weeks ago.  but we dont so it had to go  so off it went to the metal breakers along with the metal climbing frames and a huge box of old hard drives and every other scrap bit of metal lying around :)

total result back £150  and then another £50 for the wheels and tyres so in actual fact the new one has cost us £300  so it did work out a lot cheaper than fixing the galaxy and we have a lovely looking mpv again (until Allan does something to it lol)

Allan also  fixed the knob on my car radio/cd player at long last..  thats only taken him since last october when i bought my car to sort out… took all of five mins…

Ali has had a little bug not sure what it was he just had a day of not eating anything and his chest was really bad.. neither Allan or I got any sleep on sat night as we sat up watching him as he struggled to catch his breath and was coughing. thankfully i have his inhaler so managed to sort it out without a hospital visit ok once he was settled we decided to keep an eye on him anyway… managed to get him to eat something on Sunday even if it meant me going to the garage to get him his favourite cream cakes lol

now the farmtown game has got as far as i can go quickly as ive got to level 34 now its just ticking over i have gone on to lexulous and  wordscrapper and so far winning most games although i do feel rather mean with Vicky and Susan as i spent years playing scrabble so its one of the sort of games i usually do quite well in ;)

I was thinking this morning that three years ago i was sitting in a panic… Allan had gone out and about 20 mins after he left my waters went… bearing in mind what has happened in the past with Michael and the fact that it was 3 weeks before his due date i was getting in rather a state… Allan rushed home, a friend baby sat Alex and we got up the hospital asap…. no signs of labour but because of my previous history they decided to keep me in…  it seems like yesterday now… I cant believe that my baby will be three on 1st July,  then again I cant believe that Daniel my oldest will be 24 tomorrow… this is the time of the year when depression really starts to hit me if im not care full.  I miss my son and i dread his birthday coming up… its another birthday i wont be around for another one ive missed.  that makes 6 or 7 now even that makes me sad that i cant remember the exact last birthday i could spend with him of course i could work it out but not actually remember….

Even my baby Ali’s birthday comes with sadness as its also my mum’s birthday he was born a year after she passed away on her birthday so while we celebrate Ali’s third birthday i cant help but feel sad that not only will he have never of met my mum it should be her birthday as well,  and on the 24th July not only is it my twins birthday who will be 23 its also the anniversary of my mum’s passing  so not looking forward to that either…  another two birthdays i will miss and i miss my mum…. hence my feeling down in the summer……. I try not to let it get at me and i dont mention it to allan now  i find the best way it to have a good cry when no one is around and no one knows how sorry im feeling for myself… i have to keep on, life has to go on… I have to be here for my boys..

And to top it off a crap end to a crap week last week Michael Jackson died…. and Farrah Fawcett while i did like Farrah and loved the film private Benjamin Its the passing of MJ that has kind of shook me the most… I used to be a great fan when i was younger… hence my first son’s name Michael while Im not sure about the person he became and the wacko jacko stuff… there is no denying the man was an icon who had produced excellent music and was a great showman and dancer… it is a great loss not just to the music industry, entertainment industry but to millions and millions of fans world wide.  the only other person i can remember whose death  had such an impact on the world was Elvis

very sad news….

Avatar Creation and Editing

How do I create an account?

When you first log into Farm Town, the mayor will guide you through the setup process. You need to enter a name for your Avatar and select your gender. On the next screen you are presented with the Avatar Editor, where you can change how you want your avatar to look.

How do I change my appearance?

You can change your look at any point by clicking on your Avatar and selecting ‘Change Appearance’ from the popup menu. This will launch the Avatar Editor where you can change your look.

How can I change the name and sex of my Avatar?

Click on the Account tab at the top of your farm screen (it is the last tab on the far right). This will take you to another screen where you can key in your new name. Once you have changed your name it will automatically update all your neighbours and buddies listings to reflect your new name. You also have the option here to change the sex of your Avatar.

Game Basics

What are Farm Town Coins?

Coins let you buy seeds, trees, animals, buildings and more for your farm.

How can I earn Farm Town Coins?

Coins can be earned by selling your harvests or by working at someone else’s farm. You can earn Coins by selling the gifts your friends send you. Or by tending your friends farms.

How do I make money quickly?

When your crops are ready to harvest, make sure you hire someone to harvest them for you so that you make more money. For the first few days, re-invest all the money you make into planting new crops. Potatoes are a good starter crop since they take a single day to grow. You’ll then find you have made a decent enough profit to at least buy a couple of fence pieces. Always re-plant your plowed squares before spending money so that you have a constant source of income.

How do I visit other people’s farms?

You can click on people in your neighbours list to visit their farms, or you can click on the list of people right at the bottom of your screen when you are in your farm (it has a horizontal list of people playing with their Avatars underneath).

How do I move around the marketplace?

When you arrive in the marketplace click on the walk button and then click your cursor on an area you would like to walk to. Your avatar will move there. If you have sold crops and then want to move you might get a Saving message. Just wait for a couple of seconds before trying to move again.

How do I change my farm name?

Click on the bar on the top of your farm screen to the right of the experience points bar. When you hover over it you will see a message appear that says “Click to edit farm name”

Is there another way to move my farm besides clicking on the green diamond-shaped logo?

You can pan by clicking on a specific spot on your farm and dragging your farm around with your mouse.

What is the Farm Town Lottery message that appears on my screen each day?

This is an amount of money that you earn for each day that you log into Farm Town.

Toolbox (top right of farm screen)

What is the Computer Disk Symbol?

This is a new save function and it must be clicked every time you exit the game, visit another page on Facebook, exit the browser window, log off etc…

Every 20 seconds or so the system reloads on its own saving 99% of data, however when you don’t use the save button there is still a margin of time where you could be kicked out or signed off/timed off of facebook/view another page/or for whatever reason have to close the window. When this happens, and you haven’t clicked on the save button, you have more chances of losing data, or one or more items on your farm.

What is the Musical Symbol?

This is the Toggle Music feature which will turn off the music in the game. Click on the musical symbol and the button will turn red. You will no longer hear the music while playing the game.

What is the Speaker Symbol?

This is the Toggle Sound feature which, when clicked will turn red and will turn off the sounds the animals make.

What is the Wrench Symbol?

This is the link to the Preferences Menu. The following options are available:

  • Show Trees / Show Flowers / Show Buildings – If these options are unchecked, all trees, flowers and buildings will be hidden from your view. You will be able to plow and plant on your own farm with these items out of the way and you can use this option on other farms when harvesting.
  • Freeze Animals – this option allows you to halt the movement of your animals so that you can move fences without your animals escaping.
  • Remove Space Between Fields – this option will allow you to place plots side-by-side when plowing instead of having a space in between. It is advisable to start plowing from the top left of your farm when using this option, also make sure that all existing harvested plots are deleted first.
  • Smooth Graphics – this option may produce higher quality graphics, but depending on the computer, may create slow-downs.
  • Follow Avatar While Walking – this option, when unchecked, stops the screen from jumping and following the Avatar around when you are plowing or harvesting.

What is the Plug Symbol?

If you click on the green Online Mode (plug symbol) you can select to go into Offline Mode. Once you do this you will become invisible on your farm. You will be able to plow and plant your crops without being interrupted by other farmers. They will still be able to access your farm and leave you messages, they just won’t see you. You can also use this mode to tend neighbours farms without seeing them if they are on their farms. This only works if you select your neighbours from your neighbour bar at the bottom of your farm screen. If you access them through your neighbour listing (top of farm screen) this will reset itself to online when you enter their farm. You can also use Offline Mode to go to the marketplace to sell your crops without seeing everyone else.

When you enter Offline Mode, you are still connected to our servers. So all your activity, farm changes, purchases, gifts, etc, continues working as usual. The only functionality that doesn’t work is the multi-user functionality (e.g. chat, hiring, etc).

Why would you want to go in Offline Mode? Users who are behind a firewall or a router, until now couldn’t play Farm Town at all. With this new mode, these users can play the game with most functionality enabled. Also, in cases that our servers become unavailable, you can play offline while the servers come back online. You will NOT lose anything using Offline Mode.

What is the Questions Mark Symbol?

This is the Help feature. It repeats the help that you received when you first set up your farm by indicating where the plow tool and the harvesting tool are, as well as the Store access. You can click on this button at any time to repeat these instructions.

Trophies

Why can’t I sell the items on my farm?

To be able to start selling items on your farm e.g. animals, trees etc… you need to have earned the Influential Neighbours Trophy. To earn that trophy you have to have 8 neighbours (Facebook Friends that are playing Farm Town).

I won a trophy and it says I have got $500 to spend in the store – is this correct?

The trophy is won by SPENDING 500 coins in the store e.g. buying seeds, animals, hay bales, fences, barrels, windmill etc… You are not awarded actual money for this. You just earn the trophy once you have accomplished this.

Neighbours

Who are my neighbours?

Your neighbours are friends whose farms are close to yours.

How do I add friends as a neighbours?

Go to the ‘My Neighbours’ tab. If your friends have a farm in Farm Town, click on ‘Add as a Neighbour’. If your friends do not own a farm yet, select them from the list, and invite them over.

How do I my neighbours farms if they are not on my immediate neighbours tab?

You can visit your other neighbours (Facebook Friends with the Farm Town app) by clicking on your neighbours tab at the top of your farm screen. This will take you to a list of all your neighbours. If you click on their farm it will take you there directly. You have no way of knowing whether these neighbours are online or not – a good suggestion is to put those neighbours on your buddy list when you see them. When you click on your buddy list in future and scroll down a green light will be activated to the right of their name if they are online at the same time as you. You can also get to their farms from there.

What are the differences between neighbours and buddies?

Neighbours have to be Facebook Friends and you can send them gifts. When you visit neighbours you will have the option to help them rake, water or pull weeds on their farm. You will be able to do this once a day per neighbour. You cannot do this with buddies.

Can I have more than 8 neighbours?

You can now have more than just 8 immediate neighbours. You can accept other people as Facebook Friends and they will be added to your My Neighbours listing. You can change your immediate neighbours by clicking on their pictures in the neighbour slots at the bottom of your farm screen. An option will appear to Change Your Neighbours. You will be redirected to your neighbours listing where you can click on a specific neighbour and choosing the option to Remove someone from Neighbours. It will not delete them from your app but will place them lower in your list and will give you the option to add someone else as an immediate neighbour. You will be able to send and receive gifts from all of these neighbours regardless of whether or not they are one of your immediate neighbours. To add neighbours from your listing onto your neighbour bar, just use the arrows to move across to an empty slot and click on that to add neighbours from your listing. They will receive a neighbour request which they will have to approve. To appear on their neighbour bar, they will need to send you a request too.

Buddies

How do I add someone to my buddy list?

When someone is on your farm you can click on their Avatar and a list will pop up. Click on the add to buddy list option. They will receive a message asking them to become your buddy.

How do I visit my buddies?

Click on the two person logo at the bottom right of your screen and you will get a list of all the people you have added to your buddy list. If there is a green button on the far right of their name then they are online. If you click the “walking person” symbol on the left of the green button it will allow you to visit their farm.

What are the buddy lists for?

It gives you the option to visit people who are not your Facebook Friends and they can hire you to work on their farm. You can refer to your buddy list when you need someone to harvest your crops for you. When they are online a green button appears to the right of their names.

Farming

How do I plant crops in my farm?

To plant crops you need to till the ground using the Plow Tool (Hoe icon). After the field is tilled, you can go to the Store and purchase seeds for crops you want to plant, then with the seed bag selected, click on the tilled fields to sow. Note: You are only charged for seeds when you actually click on the plot to sow them.

How do I harvest crops and trees?

Once a planted field is ready to be harvested, use the Harvest Tool (scythe icon) and click on the field or tree to be harvested. Every time you harvest you are given the option to sell your harvests right there from your farm, or to collect them and place them in storage. If you sell the harvests from your farm, you earn less coins than if you place them in storage and go to sell them at the marketplace.

How do I put down the plowing tool once I am finished?

Click on the button with the Walking Symbol or the Harvesting Scythe to deactivate the plowing tool.

Tending

How do I buy a water hose, gloves or a rake?

You cannot purchase these items in the store. When you are asked to help on another farmers farm a screen will pop up telling you what needs to be done e.g. if their farm needs watering it will ask if you want to do that. You will get two options – either Use Water Hose (if you have already bought one before) and Buy Water Hose. You click on this option and you will automatically purchase a water hose with 5 uses.

Why do my exp points go from 6 to 1 when tending a neighbours farm?

You earn 6 exp points for every neighbour whose farm you tend (watering, raking and pulling weeds) within a 24-hour period up to a limit of 50. After that you earn 1 exp point until the clock resets.

Harvesting

How long does it take for a planted field to be ready for harvesting?

This varies among the different types of crops. The time it takes for each crop is shown in the store next to the bags of seeds.

Why did some of my crops go to waste?

If a crop is ready to be harvested and is not harvested right away it may go to waste. This time varies from crop to crop and is about the same time it takes for the crop to mature. Note: a Farm Town day is approximately 20 hours. At this point in time, fruit on trees do not go to waste.

Can other people visiting my farm harvest my crops?

No they can’t. They can chat with you if they are in your farm at the same time as you. They can also help pull weeds, rake or do other related tasks for which they will earn money.

Why is there a plus (+) sign in my storage area instead of the number of crops harvested?

Once you have over 100 crops in storage it will be reflected as a plus (+).

Why do some of my harvested crops that I sell say “Large” and others don’t?

Crops will appear in storage and in the marketplace in bags or crates, depending on which crop it is. If someone else harvests your crops for you then your crop will be labelled as e.g. sunflowers (Large). These are the crops that you receive more money for. Crops that you have harvested yourself will just say “Sunflowers” and you receive less money for them.

If a group of people harvest my crops do I earn more money?

You don’t earn more money if more than one person harvests your crops. One particular plot can only be harvested by one particular person and therefore you will only earn the regular set price on that particular crop.

Can we harvest our neighbours crops when they are away on holiday?

This is not possible but the developers are looking at taking this into consideration in the future. The best advice for now is, if you know you are going away for an extended period of time, to harvest all your crops and not replant anything until you return.

How do I sell my harvest or gifts in the marketplace?

When you first arrive a screen pops up asking you what you would like to do in the marketplace. One of the options is to sell your harvest or gifts. If this screen disappears just go over to Tom who is a stationary figure in the marketplace and click on him. The same screen with instructions will appear and you can sell your items that way.

Hiring

When should I hire someone?

You only need to hire someone when you have crops that are ready to be harvested.

How do I hire someone to work on my farm?

The easiest thing to do is to go to the marketplace and to click on someone’s Avatar. A screen will pop up with a number of options – one of them reads as follows: Hire to work at your farm. If they agree to do it for you, you will get the option to go with them to your farm or to hang out in the marketplace. You will receive a notification to let you know when they are done and the harvested items will be placed into storage. You can then sell them in the marketplace. You can also go to a friends farm if they are active (a green light on their neighbour profile) and ask them to do it for you.

What are the benefits of hiring somebody to work at your farm?

When a hired user harvests fields at your farm, you get Large boxes of the corresponding vegetable or fruit. Earning you more coins when you sell them at the marketplace.

If I am hired and I work at somebody else’s farm, how many coins do I receive?

You will receive 25% of the coins fetched by the crops you harvest.

Flowers

How do I water my flowers?

Click on the toolbox on the lower right-hand menu and select the watering can from the pop-up menu. Move the green square that appears over the flowers you would like to water. Hold down the mouse button, not simply click (you don’t have to hold it down too long though) to activate the watering process. All the flowers beneath the square will be watered, and 1 coin will be deducted for each flower/plant watered within that square. This process will fill all the raindrops regardless of how many drops were empty when you started.

Do flowers die if not watered?

Flowers do “die” if they aren’t watered at least once every three farm town days (a farm town day is 20 hours long). As soon as you water them again they come back to life.

How long does it take for flowers to be fully grown?

The flowers take about 3 days till they are fully grown and are in full bloom.

Do I earn experience points for watering flowers on my farm or a neighbours farm?

You do not earn experience points when watering flowers.

Why can I not see the flowers I placed on my farm?

Make sure you have “Show Flowers” checked (click on the wrench symbol on the upper right menu of your farm) and refresh your farm once you have done so.

Why do I get a message that says “Flowers can only be watered once a day”?

Your neighbours can water your flowers for you and earn 1 coin for each flower when they do so. Watering flowers is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Once a neighbour has watered them, you will not be able to water them as well. You are only able to water your flowers if there are two empty rain drops. When you activate the watering can all flowers will show a blue square around the base. Those that need watering are a light/dull blue and those that have been watered are a darker/brighter blue.

How much am I charged for watering my flowers?

You are charged 1 coin per flower/plant that is watered. If your neighbours water your plants for you, they will earn 1 coin per flower/plant that they water.

Can I harvest the flowers?

The flowers cannot be harvested but you can sell them. If you click on them (whether just planted or in full bloom) the pop-up menu will give you the option to sell.

Can I water a buddies flowers?

You can only water a neighbours flowers (and only those neighbours who are on your neighbour bar at the bottom left of your farm – NOT neighbours on your neighbour listing that don’t appear on your neighbour bar). You cannot water buddies flowers.

Can you freeze your flowers if you go away on holiday and cannot water them?

This is not possible. The flowers, at this point in time, will die if not watered but, will revive once watered again. If you click the “Freeze Growth” option on a flower, it DOES need to be watered as all you are doing is stopping it at whatever stage of growth it is at. In other words, if you like your roses to be rosebuds rather than in full bloom, you can freeze them at the rosebud stage. But the flower still needs to be watered. Please remember though that, when you unfreeze them, they will revert back to the first stage of growth.

Why did a flower revert back to the first stage of growth when I moved it?

When you move a flower it goes back to the first stage of growth. Once you have refreshed the game the plant will be back to the size it was BEFORE you moved it.

I cannot plow/harvest my plots near flowers, what do I do?

If you’re trying to plow/harvest your plots near flowers, deselect “Show Flowers” in your preferences (remember to reselect it when you are done) or you can simply “Hide” the flowers temporarily.

Animals

How can I add Animals to my farm?

You can purchase animals in the store. Some animals are made available as you progress in the game. You can also ask your friends to send you animals as gifts (using the Send Gifts page).

My animals are all over the farm. They are eating my crops!

You can fence in your animals, to keep them from wandering around. To do this, buy fences in the Store, in the ‘Barn, Other’ tab. Note: this option has not been brought online yet.

What is the “Eat” command on the menu when I click on an animal for?

This is a command to make your animals eat e.g. if you do that with a squirrel it will sit and eat a nut. This does not make them eat your crops and is not a command for you to eat them either.

How do I sell an animal?

Click on the animal, and select ‘Sell’ from the popup menu. Notice that the sell price is much less than what you paid on the store.

What can I do with the animals on my farm?

You can sell the animals by clicking on them and choosing the option to sell. This is only worth your while if you have received them as gifts. They currently don’t have any other function.

Items on Farm Town

Why won’t my animals stay in the pens I made using the fence pieces?

Bear in mind that a small pen e.g. 1×1 is not big enough for a lot of animals and they won’t remain in there. Make sure that your fence pieces connect properly. You can also use the perimeter of your farm as outer fencing, which also gives you more yardage. If you animals still escape you can use hay bales where the fences connect to stop them from getting out.

How do I rotate the fencing?

You cannot turn them manually but each piece you buy in the Store goes in a certain direction (one horizontal and one vertical – that is how you build your fences)

What are the bales of hay, barrels and other items available for purchase for?

At this point in time they are just for decoration. The bales of hay might be used to feed the animals at some point in the game.

When I click on a tree I get a “Send as a Gift” option – what does that do?

This does not send the actual tree you have clicked on. It merely redirects you to send a gift to a Farm Town Facebook Friend (neighbour). You can only do this is you have that specific tree unlocked in the game. This will also count towards your 24 daily gift limit.

I have accidentally hidden a tree – how do I get it back?

The hide function was introduced by the developers to help farmers reach crops that may be hidden by trees or buildings. When you click on a tree (or any other item like buildings) you will receive an option to “Hide” that tree. When you activate the option the tree will temporarily disappear from your screen, leaving behind a red square where the tree normally sits. To clear this you need to reload your farm page and the tree will be back in its old position. This option is not available to people harvesting your trees – the developers are looking at a way to introduce this at a later stage.

Why won’t the pop-up menu activate when I try to select my well to move it?

Make sure that the item you are trying to select is not too close to another item on your farm e.g. a tree. You can either move the tree out of the way or use the Hide function to hide the tree. You will now be able to select the well and the pop-up menu will appear.

Why did the fruit disappear when I moved a tree and reset it to 0%?

This is only temporary. All you need to do is to reload your farm page and the tree will be back, ready to be harvested.

Why are some of the trees locked for purchase in the store?

This part of the store has not been activated yet.

Farm Town Gifts

How do I send gifts to my Farm Town Facebook Friends only?

There is a Farmer Friends Tab in the middle between the All Friends and Facebook Friends tabs. When you have clicked on a gift and have proceeded to send the item these options will appear. The Farmer Friends list will show all those people who are your Facebook Friends who all have the Farm Town app loaded (these are your neighbours in Farm Town).

How many gifts can I send per day?

The current limit is around 28 (this is determined by Facebook and may change on a daily basis). You can send a gift to the same friend twice during the space of a day (AM & PM) e.g. you can send 14 gifts to 12 friends in the morning and then again to the same friends in the afternoon, or 28 gifts to different friends once a day. Gift requests reset at 12am PST (you then have a full 24-hours from that period to send your daily allotment within). Bear in mind that your neighbour requests are part of the daily limit that you have for sending gifts e.g. if you send three neighbour requests you will only be able to send 25 gifts for the day.

Why are some of my gifts missing – I accepted them in Facebook?

You need to ensure that you accept your gifts one at a time. Each time you have accepted one, click on Yes to go back and accept the others. If you try to rapidly accept your gifts in Facebook you WILL lose gifts.

Why am I no longer receiving gifts from a specific friend?

Below the accept gift button in your requests box is a small link that reads ” Ignore All Invites From This Friend” Is it possible you accidentally clicked this at some point when accepting a gift from this person?

To check this hover your pointer over the setting link in Facebook, wait for the drop down menu to pop up and choose Privacy Settings. When the page refreshes choose the Applications option. Next choose the Settings tab. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and you will see a link that says “Ignored Application Inviters”. Is the persons name listed there? If so, there should be a link to remove the block. Remember to save your changes.

Blocking Users

How can I report users for inappropriate behavior?

Click on the user, and select ‘Ignore User’ in the popup menu. This will keep the user from contacting you again. If a user is reported by enough people, the user will be banned for all eternity and thereafter.

I accidentally Ignored one of my neighbours/buddies, how do I unblock them?

Click on the Accounts tab at the top of your farm screen. Click on Blocked Users next to Preferences and then unblock the user from the list that appears. Note: As soon as you have ignored someone they will be the first person on the ignored user list.

Can someone leave me messages on my farm wall if I blocked them?

Once you have blocked someone they can still access your farm if you are on their buddy list. You cannot see them or any messages they may try to leave in your chat box or on your farm wall. People visiting your farm will still be able to see them and to interact with them.

Messaging System

What is the envelope on my farm screen for?

This is the messaging centre. When you have received a message red numbers will appear indicating the number of messages you have available. Click on the envelope and your messages will be opened. The message centre stores the last 10 messages that you have received. You can access these by clicking on the empty envelope. These will be overridden by incoming messages. If you click on the walking symbol on the bottom right of the message screen, you will be able to visit the farm of the person who left you the message.

Why can’t I type in the chat box when I am in full screen mode?

This is a limitation of Adobe Flash. When the game is in fullscreen mode, the keyboard is disabled. A quick fix for this is to type the message in a program like Word or Notepad and to copy and paste it into the chat box. You can also type the message in your browser address bar and copy it from there. Ctrl C can be used to Copy and Ctrl V will paste.

Other areas in Farm Town

How do I access the Real Estate Office to increase the size of my farm?

You gain access to the Real Estate Office at level 15. The first upgrade will cost you $20 000 coins, the second $25 000, the third $30 000 (increasing in increments of $5 000 coins) except for the final upgrade (24×24). To gain access to each upgrade, you need to purchase the one before it – they have to be purchased in sequential order, you cannot skip an upgrade as all other upgrades will remain locked. You have to buy the 14×14 farm upgrade first and the next upgrade (16×16) will be unlocked. The 14×14 will then disappear from the Real Estate Screen. When you upgrade to the next size up the same thing will happen.

What is the Inn for?

The Inn is somewhere for players to congregate and to get to know one another. It is not a venue for people to ask for work – that is what the marketplace is for.

Super Rewards Offers

I did not receive the coins from an offer that I completed, what do I do?

The service is provided by a third party which the developers of Farm Town have no control over. If you have problems click this link:[1]] for your Super Rewards Status and click on the Awarded Offers tab. This will show the current status of your purchases and offers and should provide you with a contact link.

If not, find the specific advertizer that you used on the offer list and to click on their link to access their individual site. Once there, look for their contact number or email address and contact them directly.

Technical Advice

Will removing & reinstalling the application help fix errors and glitches?

Removing and reinstalling Farm Town will not make any difference at all and will not help fix any errors or glitches you may be experiencing.

What are the minimum computer requirements to successfully run Farm Town?

Many new systems are often under-powered when it comes to one critical component, RAM (memory). Some antivirus programs are notorious users of RAM, and it’s important to have enough to go around, or your operating system starts having to use disk space as temporary RAM, which is a very slow process. A minimum of 1 GB is required for XP and 2GB for Vista. If you are a gamer you will require much more. To quickly determine how much RAM your system has see this link: [[2]] You should consult your computer vendor’s website or customer support to determine if you can add more RAM to your system. Sites like Newegg’s Memory Configuration System Tool at this link: [3]can help you determine what RAM is appropriate for your system. If the RAM is cheap, my personal preference is to replace the existing chips with matched new RAM. Using RAM from different vendors in a single machine can lead to trouble.

How do I stop Farm Town e-mailing me notifications?

Hover over Settings at the top of Facebook and click Account Settings. Click the Notifications tab and if you scroll down you can turn off particular applications from notifying you by e-mail when something happens. Just turn the Farm Town one off.

Farm town level 34 then what’s next

26 06 2009

Well on the 24th June 2009  I did it I finally got to level 34 and bought my mansion.

thankfully most of the fields were already harvested so as they were finished i deleted them.  this changed my farm from being almost 90% crops to empty apart from the small house and the farm house and a few animals in pens and a barn.

then came the whole rearranging job.. I had a play and finally got it how i wanted it..  I bought the mansion and loads of other things and this is the final result.

The Mansion and Maze

The Mansion and Maze

part one with mansion top right hand corner

part two with the maze shown fully

part three there is a windmill bottom right hand corner but you can just about see it.

part three there is a windmill bottom right hand corner but you can just about see it.

Now I own everything you could possibly buy, I was going to retire but i guess im too addicted so have decided to keep a few fields going just so i remember to water my flowers. (some im still waiting to grow plus i may add a few more)

I’ve also become a tree hugger lol Ive decided that im going to let the mango trees keep their fruit.  I had loads of trees but they were at the time just a source of extra income. I sold off 99% of them and have not just got a few.

I have tried all the other farming and growing games there are but none are as good as Farm Town, even MyFarm i got bored with once i got my mansion and village on that.  but Farm Town is an addiction that i cant give up.

Mind you , you learn something new everyday. I only realised when i was watering a neighbours flowers the other day that you actually get paid for watering them. where if you water your own flowers it costs you. ok you don’t get experience but hey you cant have everything, and you can only water your neighbours flowers. so be nice and if your visiting your neighbours farms to get your 6 experience points if they have some flowers give them a good watering as well.

so there you go i have reached my goal…   i guess i will just keep it ticking over now until they decide to bring something new out for those of us who have reached level 34 and got everything we possibly can..

Good Day – Bad Day

19 06 2009

Today has been a day of mixed emotions to say the least…

I went out today with dad for our usual Friday shopping trip to choose the joint for Sunday and get the veg and desserts… he always comes to our house for dinner on a Sunday and nearly always chooses the meat we are having lol must admit he does have an eye for a good joint when it comes to choosing which leg of lamb etc  and today we had lunch out with Ali as well, who as always sat at the table in the cafe and ate every mouthful of his dinner and his banana afterwards… I don’t know where that kid puts it all.

The weather has been lovely and I’m certainly making the most of the ceiling fan thats up now… im hoping that AllanSunday.  the next job to do is the ceiling in the front room.  ok the fan should of been put up after it was painted but the electrician was booked ages ago.  i know we could of fitted it ourselves but housing want a qualified electrician to do the work and i have to have a certificate so £60 later the fan was fitted. will get on a bit with the decorating on

Andy came round this afternoon after I had picked up Alex from school and we had a chat but i have to admit i was facebook watching all the time he was here…  the reason being…

A very good cyber friend had her long awaited for twins today and im so very happy for her.

This woman is incredible she has yearned for a child for many many years and at the age of 50 her dream has finally come true and today like i said she gave birth to twins, a little boy and girl…   I have spent many hours talking to her over the last 7 odd months having had a twin pregnancy in common with her.

Now the reason for the bad day bit…

again the birth of the twins brought tears to my eyes, tears of happiness for Daisy that she has finally got her dream come true and her very only little family  and tears for myself because i miss my kids so much… It only seems yesterday that my twins were born… to make things worse its not that long ago that i found a baby picture of the twins…    not only do I miss them all, I have resigned myself that Ali will be my last child…  while i would of loved another baby a while back I’m not sure I would want one now….. Ali will be starting playgroup in September (he could of started last September but i wasn’t ready to let him go if im honest… I’m not sure i will be ready in September but I know I’m going to have to let him go. He keeps asking to go to school when we take Alex every day so I guess he will be ready for playgroup   I cant believe my  last baby is going to be three in a matter of a couple of weeks.

Where has the time gone…..

Tooth-ACHE!!

17 06 2009

This has got to be the worst kind of pain going, I mean if you put childbirth no 1 on the scale of 1 to 10……

Toothache comes in at about 13….  It’s got to be the worst pain ever, only closely followed behind by Earache…. And Im not a wimp by any means ive had 8 kids with gas and air, stitches with no anaesthetic.. broken bones etc and nothing what i would consider overly painful by any means

I have been suffering and I MEAN suffering for the last three days…..  bit of background..Den

About 15 yrs ago my ex decided that he would punch me in the face, It cracked one of my back teeth…

The Dentist at the time decided that it was only a hairline crack and provided it didn’t change colour everything should be ok…… I was really sensitive to Hot & Cold and was told for years to use sensedine toothpaste but it still was really sensitive….

About a year ago it started to hurt so the dentist i now have decided to do a root canal……a week later  half of it broke and came out… and despite having a root canal which is supposed to kill the nerve it still hurt …

she then decided to cap it or crown it what ever you want to call it…. that was fine for about 5 months… then it came off which left me with the outer side of the tooth and some very sharp bits on gum level…  but no pain… so she decided to leave it at that and then put another crown on despite me asking her to now pull it……   ok i admit its my fault i never went back for the crown… hey no pain, no sensitivity no need to go… well that’s what i worked on the theory of anyway…

back to present time…

Friday night i got a little niggle but thought nothing of it….. Saturday morning i got toothache… just normal toothache  nothing unbearable but annoying…… by late Saturday night Sunday morning i was in excruciating pain. the kind of pain where death seems a good option, the kind of pain where its not safe to be near you as you will rip anyone who slightly upsets you limb from limb……

I found some antibiotics Allan had not taken when he had an abscess……. (don’t you just love it when people never take their medication and you have a stock in the cupboards…) it’s certainly helped me out over the last month…

Anyways… i took Antibiotics, pain killers, anti inflammatory pills  and more pain killers….. i was still in agony..

now the antibiotics say not to be taken with alcohol they will make you sick…..  more pain   i forgot about that rule..

so had a drink to try and numb it……..  a whole bottle of white wine later and still in pain…. it didn’t even make me sick to take my mind off it…

Sunday night was the worst..  i considered pulling it out myself… now where were the pliers….. Allan decided to be very brave and hide them……  by brave i mean stupid enough to come within the exclusion zone and say i couldn’tI’m still not sure whether to thank him or not…. i recon at the time it couldn’t of hurt any more than it did already and it might of hurt for a while but then the pain would be gone….. have them…..

I try calling the dentist only to be told they cant fit me in until next week Friday to be exact which meant i would of had toothache for a week.   tried the emergency dental line and they no longer operate they just work with local dentists now on a rota basis…   I tried Canterbury hospital at the suggestion of my sister in lawish… I lied and said i was staying with a friend in faversham (so i could be in the right health area) but they told me that my local dentaline rota dentist was within distance of me going home…..

then another friend suggested i try the island community hospital so i got hold of sheppey community hospital and they said they couldn’t do anything but would make me an urgent appointment at any dentist if i was willing to travel… HELL YES I WOULD GO TO SCOTLAND if it meant it would be sorted…..  they told me they would call me back which they did… I had an appointment at 3.45 at the dentist in milton….. what the hell…… that’s my dentist .. the ones that cant fit me in until the end of next week……

I went  and when i asked how come they could get me in via the hospital but i couldn’t get an appointment i was told they have to keep a number of appointments free for hospital referrals… go figure that…

Anyhoo… In i trot she looks at it and says oh yes you have a huge abscess  (like tell me something i don’t know)  i cant do anything until its gone down i will give you some antibiotics at which point i told her i had been taking them for 2 days anyway…and was in agony… do something now pull the fucker……  No she still wont pull it….  but she agreed to try and relieve the pressure from the abscess  so i get the jab.. which i never felt.. everything hurt all the time.  she then waited and when it had taken effect and i was finally out of pain… hey i cant feel anything i love this.. can i take some syringes full home with me….  she then lanced the abscess and spent ages draining it… sorry if TMIEEEWWWEEEEE!  her words were then oh that was infected….. i bet it was really uncomfortable…..    just a tad i replied…. it seemed a better option than pinning her up against the wall by the neck and saying  YES IT BLOODY HURT… but there was a never ending stream of puss……

Ive got an appointment to go again in two weeks when the abscess has gone and the gum has healed.. for her to assess the situation…. with any luck she will get whats left of the tooth and pull the dam thing out…..

thankfully now the pain is more a very sore gum pain but not toothache   I’m starting to become human again…. the kids are safe and can now take off the hard hats and ear defenders and Allan can take off his bullet proof vest….

For Now……..

Living with a hoarder

13 06 2009

We moved into our house about 5 years ago..

ok the decoration wasn’t to my taste but hey it had been recently done and i had a three month old baby to care for and the week we moved in i ended up in hospital the day after we picked the keys up with an infected tumour in my neck so Allan bless him not only had to move everything in but take care of the baby as well, plus of course visit me :) not to mention worry himself sick over said tumour as at the time we didn’t know if it was malignant or benign.  all we know was my lump in my neck was huge and i was going for the op to have a biopsy.. which went wrong and hence the infection…..

anyway back to where i was….  the house didn’t need decorating so we didn’t worry about it  well there was one room the bathroom. that was just newly plastered walls and tiles…. money was tight.. when we moved into the house we had… a double bed given to us by a friend and a dresser, coffee table and rug that were my mums … a travel cot and a few baby bits   and a kettle….. yes folks that was our worldly goods

where i worked at the radio station someone had dumped a 3 piece suite outside that looked fine so i asked if we could have that  great no more sitting on floorboards with blankets on….   we were given the odd bit of furniture here and there and slowly things started to come together….. i got paid and went out and bought some bunk beds for the girls room. and then paid to get the front room, hall stairs and landing and the girls room carpeted in the cheapest cord carpet i could find… Allan’s mum found some old curtains and nets in her attic and gave us them.. we had curtains for the front room and the girls room.. but nets for the whole house ,we put a blanket up at our bedroom window….at least we had a little privacy

now in my previous life so to speak i have always been a hoarder so this bare look was new to me.  next Allan manages to get his cook books back from his ex alone with his bookcase…… we now have over 200 books   i got a catalogue and managed to order some wardrobes for our bedroom and some bedside cabinet’s . I was given a cot for Alex   so with the bits of off cuts from the carpet we made little rugs and hey presto we had a bedroom..  the front room consisted of a coffee table.. three piece suite  carpet and a welsh dresser in one of  the alcoves in which we put a small 14 inch TV that my mum gave us. we were using a little baby belling cooker that was loaned to us and the kettle for dinner…. have you ever boiled eggs in a kettle its easily done…  anyway another friend had a gas cooker which was green and the seal was going round the oven but hey it worked  we had a real cooker with an oven you could cook basic things in and 4 gas rings this was bliss.. again someone else we knew gave me an old fridge freezer…… great two months on and we have a kitchen.. I bought a secondhand washer / dryer for £30 out of the paper… no more hand washing baby clothes…

slowly week by week and month by month we picked up little bits we needed mainly for the kitchen.. plates etc  the pans i was using were replaced and we got everything we needed.

at Christmas we had been in the house 10 months. i was asked what i would like and i said furniture nothing special just cheap flat pack but at least we could have something that matched…. Allan wanted beech so with the money we were given by my mum and dad we bought a shelving unit…a little nest of tables and a coffee table. and a pc desk for the old pc that i was given….. hey we had a matching front room  bliss…….

Allan’s step dad passed away and he was given all his tools and garden stuff……. his mum had two of everything it was a thing his step dad had… always have a back up…. so we got the back ups..  Allan needed a shed for the garden we got the cheapest 6ft x 4ft shed…..  we picked the odd bits and pieces in the pound shop for ornaments etc  it was starting to look like a home and not a shell….

Allan bought a tin of paint and painted the bathroom.  that was the decorating done…

I didn’t have much time to be at home anyway… my dad wasn’t around and my mum needed a carer i became that full time carer  but sadly she passed away anyway when she passed away the house was going to be sold and the furniture and everything had to be cleared out… we got a microwave… dressing table, wardrobe, single bed and lots of other bits and pieces… ornaments… loads of my bits from the attic from when i was younger…   we had things the minimalistic look was gone….   not to mention toys now that had accumulated from birthday and Christmas for Alex.  and his travel cot as a play pen in the front room….. I got a carers allowance for looking after my mum and had saved some of it so we managed to get some more bits…. then i joined freecycle. what a god send that was….  the beech furniture we bought was falling to bits less than two years after we bought it so every time i saw something on freecycle in the mahogany i liked i would ask for it… I was lucky i got a couple of wall units.  in the meantime the rest of my mums furniture that was stored in my bothers garage that i hadn’t wanted and my brother was getting fed up with taking up space i put on freecycle… we managed to clear my brothers garage in two weeks and had put over 600 offers on freecycle… right down to her disability aids although we kept the wheelchair… and zimmer type frame shopping walker. they went up in the attic… you never know when they might come in handy..   our fridge freezer died  within a couple of days someone offered one on freecycle and hey presto we were lucky….  we got it…. as Alex grew out of most of his clothes and baby stuff i got rid of it on freecycle… all i kept was some precious outfits of his….  then what happens i find myself pregnant again….  a friend who i have know for many many years informs me she still had all the baby clothes that  I had given her when my older kids had grown out of them. a huge trunk full both girls and boys stuff….. so we got that back… i got another moses basket off freecycle and a few other bits i had to replace….. i had paid up the catalogue by then so ordered a nice wide screen tv  we put the little portable on freecycle…. the kids already had tv’s video players and dvd players that had come from my mums

i was bored with the 3 piece so when i saw another one that would match better in the front room on freecycle  i asked for that got it and put our old one on there that was snapped up…

Allan was given a load of old PC stuff by a friend and started building his little pc workshop in the attic… he made a nice fast pc for me ok we had to buy new bits for it.. but that was sorted…..  he made the girls and Alex their own pc’s for their bedrooms….. bought more kitchen bits when he saw them… don’t forget his is a trained chef so collecting bits for the kitchen is his hobby…..  his mum gave us some shelves so they went up in the bedroom and more and more cook books filled them… along with all the books from my mum’s which had been boxed up in the attic

Ali was born…..  more and more bits crept into the house….  then Alex decided he wanted some fish as a pet.. i bought him A little fish tank with everything included filter light heater you name it….. filled it full of fish.. my dad then decided that he fancied having tropical fish again. he used to have then 30 years ago so he got a big tank… then it escalated  we ended up getting more and more tanks., one was over 6 ft long and 5ft high…  they took over the front room and the kitchen.. we even set up a marine tank which i have to say cost fortunes…… now ok i knew what i was doing with the tropical fish, what i could put together but when it came to marine fish i was a complete novice so ended up asking at our local aquatics shop what would be the best things.  it took weeks to set up from the live rock to cleaner shrimps for weeks before we could even add fish… we added fish and it was looking great for about 6 months… Alex then wanted a nemo fish so we bought one.  put it in the isolation tank for a few weeks all was fine. put it in the main tank and the bloody thing died and killed everything else in the tank after that i decided no more what with testing the water all the time and keeping it going i said no more marine fish…

we had ended up with over 8 tanks 5 of then big ones.. at Christmas there was no room for any decorations except a few ceiling ones The fish had taken over.. along with boxes of equipment, testing kits you name it.. more stuff….

in the meantime every time Allan’s mum had a clear out he would bring it home  no matter what it was  and yes it would be put away…. now the only place we have for storage is an attic and the small bedroom. when the girls came to visit they had to stay in our bedroom because the small room had now become a storage room even the entire contents of the airing cupboard are stacked in there as we lost that storage space in the cupboard when they put in the combi boiler .. even the garden was full of stuff.. bits of wood that may have a use…. he seems to think that everything will have a use eventually..

quite often i would freecycle stuff he had forgotten about but as fast as I’m getting rid of stuff he brings more in.

now i have always had lots of bits around me but this is getting silly now every available bit of space in the house was being taken over…..  we had gone from an empty shell of a house to a house that was bursting at the seams in a matter of a few years ….

now the clear out.. he starts doing the building in the garden and slowly the bits are being used. I convinced him to burn off all the bits of wood not needed in the garden , convinced him we didn’t need a huge garden umbrella with this side stand that practically covered the whole garden  we didn’t need 2 complete sets of garden furniture so i freecycled all the wooden stuff we had and left the wrought iron ones i liked :)

now the front room is being decorated. we are now down to two fish tanks as i had slowly dwindled them down and given them to friends etc i decide that the huge tank is taking up lots of space so when i was given another tank that’sviv in the front room. i convinced him we didn’t need the display cupboard that kept the booze in it and the computer desk that was huge could go upstairs… could he build me one in the alcove… so we now have the sofa’s a viv A Huge TV with a stand and a wall unit in the front room with a couple of  little end tables…. there is actually wall space free while the decorating is going on….. when its done i hope that we will have the whole space by the window clear.. only 4ft and fits on a stand i would get rid of the huge one . we needed it out the front room for when the flooring goes down anyway.. so at the moment the 4ft one  is in the garden waiting for when the front room is done.. the fish are in another tank in the kitchen on a stand and the little fish are in another tank in the kitchen on the counter top.. we have the big

The problem now is because we bought all the flooring to do the hallway and the front room at the same time. and cant lay the flooring in the front room until the decorating is done we have that stacked up in our room, alone with a couple of spare viv’s boxed stuff from the wall unit so it can be moved while he decorates and now i cant get into the wardrobe’s to put clothes away so its stacked up in baskets our bedroom has become another storage area the kitchen has become a storage area and the hallway even has the big Chinese rug that was in the front room rolled up and halfway up the stairs ready to go up in the attic because i don’t want it down again in the front room but again he wont get rid of it..

i had strong words that enough was enough next time someone or his mum offer’s him anything they don’t want to say NO! there is no room left in the house..

sometimes i wish i could go back a few years to when we had hardly anything at least the place looked tidy then… i have to admit at the moment i have lost the will to live when it comes to tidying up because the place still looks like a dumping ground….And he is still bringing bits home  arrrrggghhh……..

in my next life im going for minimalist

Fathers Day is looming

12 06 2009

Allan asked me last night if i had made any plans for fathers day..

Eh WHAT???

he then said that if i hadn’t already bought anything can i get him the mick oldfield CD  now i just sat there and said why didnt he download it and he said he wanted the cd in its case etc not downloaded onto his mp3 player.and its only about £10.

now at the moment money is tight for everyone.. the same here. and im thinking yes that reminds me i must pick up a card for MY dad…  get it a card… he has never been one for wanting gifts on fathers day and always moans if i get him something and has already reminded me not to waste any money getting him anything.. he hates commercialism if that is such a word lol

anyway back to Allan it didn’t dawn on me at the time but thinking back to mothers days in the past since i have been with Allan only once has he ever bought me a mothers day card and that was last year about half way though the day when he detected i had the arse and suddenly remembered what day it is… made some excuse to go over to the shop and came back with a card and a little box with 4 chocolates in it…. from the boys.. at which point all of the three men folk hovered around me while i opened the box…. yes all had one which left one chocolate…  and it wasnt very nice..

So back to now….. do i get him a card and his cd or do i get him a card and a little box of chocolates and tell him to share them like i had to…..

yes I know i sound bitter but it must be me and men  my ex never bought me anything at birthdays or Christmas until the first year we had been separated he then gave me a pair of trainers in a size to big… which i passed onto my oldest son at the time. as they were mens trainers as well. and since i have been with Allan yet again no birthday and Christmas presents…. now i have always made an effort and got him stuff not only from myself but from the kids as well.. one year on my birthday we went to maidstone….  i picked up a small box of toffefee’s (not sure how you spell that one) total cost £1.99 he picked up some other bits in the same shop and paid for all of them. it came to about £12 and then in another shop Allan bought himself a car radio for the Toyota he was using at the time….. ok it was only a cheap one for twenty quid..   we got home and he started putting away the bits we had got , gave me the chocolates and said here you are have these for your birthday…. WHAT THE FUCK…….

Farmtown The Mansion

12 06 2009

Yes I’m finally on level 33….. after having a week of taking things easy and just planting pumpkins i was nearly at 33 yesterday so decided to up the anti and go for experience again….. and planted grapes… this morning i made it to level 33 so have now changed my strategy again……

Grapes Grapes Grapes  …… every time i harvest a couple of fields one is donated to the grape cause the other is now going to be 1 day crops…. that way i can still get some coins in (grapes are not worth planting for the cash but excellent for the experience…

and that’s what im going for now… i have the cash to buy the bits i want and that’s after wasting quite a lot on the white house and flowers and some other bits and bobs..  they are on the farm but not where i finally want them… im selling off all gifts apart from flowers…… as well as doing jobs tending farms for more experience im also watering friends and neighbour’s flowers ok no experience for that and it costs you buy hey  got to be nice sometime lol

I have always thought the tree huggers were rather on the daft side but have been thinking lately that once the farm or should i say pub with gardens and small holding may just have a few trees that i would like to keep fruit on… Yes I admit the do look better but at the moment they are just  source of revenue to me.  A lot will be sold off when the great plan comes together …

Now we can buy rivers as well my original plans have been changed… how this virtual life has taken over….

I was thinking only yesterday that the farms are lacking in people. not neighbours or those phantom farmers who seem to wonder around but you can never speak to them or even hire them… I have tried to in the past

What im on about is little people  to sit at the benches…..children that can be playing on the playground…

hey as well as that i would like to see beer glasses and wine glasses for sale to put on the tables. maybe even a picnic

Now I confess that i also have played MyFarm in the past… and although it dont think the game was as good it did have some good points that i would love to see implemented on Farmtown… the fact that once you have your mansion ploughing is free…… you can get a tractor to plow multiple fields…

These i think would make farmtown much better……. and then what do i do after i have reached that most desired level 34 got my farm as i want it with the mansion  and just a few fields to keep it ticking over….. what will i do then?  will they bring out more incentives to keep us more active and prolific players interested in the game… will they give us another goal to aim for… It took long enough for the flowers to come….. I think there will be a long wait now before any more changes take place….

It was quite funny this morning.. i had been working planting some more flowers on  farmtown and then a field of pumpkins was ready to be harvested……..so i went to the market to hire someone to harvest them and no-one was there  i mean the whole market was empty. i went home and then back to the market again no-one was there…. I then realised that i was working off line DOH!!  go back online again and trot off back to the market and yes it was full,  so i have now learnt that when your off line you can still sell items at the market but obviously you cant hire anyone…. mental note when needing harvesters go one line.
